CEA Open Forum Meeting

The CEA committee has heard your request to participate with our monthly meetings. Therefore, we are opening our meeting again to all CEAs for OCTOBER!

What: CEA Monthly Committee Meeting

When: Wednesday, October 10th, 3:30-4:45pm

Where: Henry Grube Education Centre – Room 6

Why: The CEA Committee wants to hear your concerns, educate, inform and empower our members! We want you to have a voice because together we are better.

Our hope is to have more of these open forum meetings with all of you, so please invite, share and pass this along to all CEAs, especially those on the Relief/On-Call roster.

Childcare: If required, please notify the Union at cupe3500@telus.net or 250-377-8446 before Tuesday, October 9th.

Come out and let’s have a conversation about what we can do to support and learn from each other.

Call Out For Local 3500 Shop Stewards

Union Shop Stewards are local union members who help members solve problems and organize within the local. A steward’s key role is to be a vital link between the membership and the local’s elected leaders.

Some of a stewards duties include: day to day contact with members, handling and investigating members’ complaints, filing grievances for contract violations, supporting members at grievance meetings, collaborating with other stewards, documenting problems in the workplace and informing the executive. 

Are you interested in becoming a Steward? If so, please contact a member of CUPE Local 3500 Executive or email the union office at cupe3500@telus.net or call 250-377-8446Training will be provided to those interested in making this valuable commitment.
